peter fischli and david weiss - 'flowers and questions' retrospective exhibiton by swiss artists........................................................................................................................
--- room 13 'suddenly this overview' fills room 13 with a series of 92
unfired clay sculptures, each depicting a small scene or
statement. the works are all roughly constructed 'sketch'
sculpture,s which unashamedly display the creator's hand
work. each piece tells a tiny tale from history or explores
common phrases and idioms. viewing these works is
similar to reading satirical cartoons in the newspaper,
each piece is new escapade with a caption to provide
the necessary context to make the ordinary subjects
take on new meanings.
