blue gallery, london
july 13 - 16, 2005

the barber osgerby for pantone collection is a limited
edition collection based on the pantone ‘chip’
and the idea that color is an expressive language
that appeals to one’s inner feelings and individuality.
the collection is made in bentwood and consists of
8 different color sets with 6 different gradations
of color in each set for a total of 48 one of a kind
pantone colors.
‘it brings the iconic pantone chip to life in three dimensions,’
said edward barber and jay osgerby, principals,
barber osgerby. ‘the chip is a symbol universally
recognized by artists and designers.’

the ‘flight stool’ was used for pantone promotion
at the ICFF international contemporary furniture fair
in new york, may 2005.
96 stools were produced to showcase the colour
system for architecture and interiors.
the stools from the new york show are being sold
as a limited edition, numbered and signed
by the designers.

the ‘flight stool’ was originally made for the freedom
brewing co. in central london. it is made in uk by
isokon plus and is in the permanent collection at the
victoria & albert museum.
