TOBIAS REHBERGER(5 articles)

Tobias Rehberger was born in 1966 in Esslingen, Germany and attended the Städelschule in Frankfurt/Main before he started working as an artist in the early nineties. With his various forms of artistic output: sculptures, industrial objects and handcrafted articles, he explores the wider sphere of structural design and architecture, thriving on chance connections and unexpected encounters.

Tobias Rehberger's installations have been included in both the 50th and 53rd Venice Biennales and he exhibited - amongst others - at Whitechapel Gallery in London, Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, and Museum Ludwig in Cologne. In 2009 he won the Golden Lion for best artist for his sculptural installation at the cafeteria of the Venice Biennale. He teaches at the Städelschule in Frankfurt/Main where he also lives and works.
