the gallery art factory organizes the exhibition of contemporary
sculptures. international artists and sculptors such as
dennis oppenheim (usa), kcho (cuba), rafael mahdavi (mexico),
herbert hamak (germany), mark titchner (uk) and five spanish
artists amador, teresa matas, manolo paz, santiago picatoste
and darya von berner build up monumental installations.

dennis oppenheim
as a special guest, dennis oppenheim presents
his new monumental group of 5 sculptures -
the ‘aerial water closets’ in the core of the city
of prague. this group of tree-like sculptures made
of iron and whose branches, leaves and flowers
are such strange elements as water closets, toilets,
lavatories and sinks, is emblematic of oppenheim’s
irony towards nature and urban life - a humoristic
claim for respect towards our environment which
reminds us how little space is left for nature in our cities.

born in electric city, washington (usa) in 1938,
dennis oppenheim is one of the most internationally
recognized artists of his generation.
as a member of the small group of earth art’s artists,
he is known by his conceptual and object-like artworks
and his architectonical deconstructions. in his sculptures,
he combines architecture and sculpture, turning the
everyday object into something familiar but always surprising.
his work has been presented in:

and ideas, this work combines graphic design with the
aesthetics of pop art and advertising, blending art with
the commonplace. his work shows an ironic and somewhat
fascinated gaze on contemporary urban culture.

his billboard-inspired works question both perception and
the transmission codes of images.

as one of four artists for the turner prize 2006.
