layered flat by sam sannia from italy
designer's own words:
The aesthetical outcome of layering Corian is great. 'Layered Flat' tries to take this process a step (or three) forward:
1- It’s flat, which means that it can be used for practical surfaces such as kitchen tops, shop counters or for any other plane on which objects need to stand up straight and often necessitate cleaning. For vertical applications it can be cut and distributed as a series of decorative tiles.
2- The production process is progressive and therefore can be produced at a fairly high speed and with a minimal loss of material.
3- If you place a light source behind it, it looks even better.
This concept is to be seen as a starting point from which a whole new variety of designs can be derived.
