designer's own words:

Pixlight is a tv accessory:
an optical filter transforms defined color images from television sets into an endless variety of color abstracts.
A plurality of light-collector channels (lattice of any shape, hexagonal on the shown prototype) conduct light from the tv images to a translucent material, each channel diffusing and averaging light passing therethrough.
It works with any visualisation screen.

The viewer discovers the underlying beauty of light and colour in a moving picture (its "subreality").
It is a low-tec lighting system that uses TV to create an ever changing domestic piece of art .

For "House Party":
1/ the everchanging visual effect created with any TVbroadcast fits perfectly with any party music, the tv with its pixlight become an extraordinary disco light system
2/ the pixlight/DVD party kit allows the public to use the Tv/DVD combo as a light and sound system: images and musics are produced to create the best party ambiance.
