source-less lamp is an interpretation of the introduction of led bulbs to replace the incandescent and fluorescent bulbs in a lamp.
the led bulbs can be well hidden away and the lamp 'shade' is replaced by frosted acrylic and becomes the light source itself.
source-less lamp appears to have an element, the bulb, missing from its structure but works prefect. the 'shade' is cut into half and shows the familiar bulb seen in the center of the lamp is being obsoleted.
