Bearing means ‘Give birth to, bear fruit, harvest and endure’. I considered that humans could not help bearing, spending their lives- It may diverse kinds of suffering by each individual, diverse kinds of obligation and responsibility and destiny. I am expressing those obligation, suffering, responsibility and sorrow given to humans in a figurative meaning through features that animals are bearing something on their back. Plant Bearing Elephant is an aesthetic figurative work made by my analyzing a practical vessel of ‘Flowerpot’ minimally with an elephant as its motive. Through an elephant which bears a plant needing human’s affection, I considered our obligation which we should live together with nature. I put nature, another partner of mankind, in this Plant Bearing Elephant.
