coccina 08

designer's own words:

In this futuristic - but still very realistic kitchen concept - all the painful tasks such as cleaning and washing have been simplified, the movements around the two working areas - "wet" and "cooking" - are now much easier. Each element of the kitchen is designed to allow objects to come to the user, instead of having the user moving to reach them : This works thanks to a 360° rotative tap and sink, and a pan detection hob, based on induction technology. The bins are built in and open up just under the table top. An interactive screen, acting as an interface for all functions in the kitchen and a media display, is integrated at eye-height. The overall shape of coccina allows to work seated, and makes movements and communication around the kitchen much easier.
The coccina 08 concept kitchen is an example of how a structured top-down design process can lead to very realistic high-value adding solutions.
