Shudhha –self purifying water filter -
This water purifier works on the principle of converting hydro energy to electrical energy. The water from the running tap falls directly on the mini hydro turbine putting it into motion. The kinetic energy generated due to the motion of the mini turbine is converted into electrical energy which is used to illuminate the ring of ultra violet LEDs. Then the water passes through three layers of filters inbuilt in the purifier. These layers filter out physical impurities. The middle filter is lined with a layer of alum which functions as a natural purifying agent. The filtered water then passes through the UV chamber where ultra violet light kills the bacteria present in the water. The electricity required for this ultra violet light to function is generated in the purifier itself. This results in avoiding wastage of electricity used in the process of water purification. Finally the rubber jets in the shower head provide an optimum water flow which avoids the water wastage.
