designboom and DuPont's international design competition theme: DuPont Corian® for a food & coffee bar results ! # 1526 title: take away name : cul de sac espacio creativo sex - age : - city : valencia state : spain --- Inspired by the way cardboard boxes overlap their sides to close themselves. the combination among itself of just one piece creates the whole table, no extra fittings are needed to keep the table together, the customer plays a very active role on this product, choosing and combining the different pieces he prefers the most, also the stacking factor for it's distribution and storage, is to be taken into account. because of our own production limitations, for this first prototype we used a plywood seat from an already existing chair, although from the begining and due to it´s mechanical properties, finishes and thermoforming manufacturing technique, corian turned up as a perfect choice .     ---  back to the competition results index ---  ------- monthly designboom newsletter ------- ------- ? comments and contact us ? -------  |
