designboom and DuPont's international design competition theme: DuPont Corian® for a food & coffee bar results ! -------------------------- top 30 nominations # 1800 title: loop name : antonio barbieri, sara caselli, lorenzo perini sex : - age : - city : firenze state : italy --- a loop it harks back to the feel of a space saucer, while also recalling the 'maternal womb' with its continuous line, extruded and tensed in section to form tables, benches and other horizontal surfaces. these sinuous lines wrap around, creating optical plays of light born in centrifugal bursts. the harmony of the project is manifest in the lightness of the interiors, created by the unusual cross-sectional configuration of the space; and by the reinterpretation of the futuristic ethos embodied in the fantastical architectures of the seventies, which utterly refused to be drawn into the traditional dialectic of horizontal-vertical space, preferring a 'psychological' dimension.   ---  back to the competition results index ---  ------- monthly designboom newsletter ------- ------- ? comments and contact us ? -------  |
