designboom and DuPont's international design competition theme: DuPont Corian® for a food & coffee bar results ! # 957 title: ar-bar name : andrew walla sex : male age : 28 city : centennial, co state : uk --- 'ar-bar' is a circular service installation designed to provide the practical needs of a food and beverage outlet whilst evoking similar experiences to that of sitting under a tree. the two-part system includes a trunk, in a coffee brown shade of corian, and a canopy in chartreuse corian. the trunk includes a standing bar, seating, and tables. the central walkway has been sculpted to resemble cobblestone. the canopy is thin enough to allow light to pass through, re-creating the soft green glow and small patches of sunlight that the leaves of a tree would.  ---  back to the competition results index ---  ------- monthly designboom newsletter ------- ------- ? comments and contact us ? -------  |
