adding a second function to the regular ikea pokal glass, the bulgarian designer and artist aleksandar dimitrov from french-based AD-3D has developed ‘clip on glass’. the 3D printed object transforms the vessel normally used for drinking into a vase suitable for holding flowers. the cleverly designed 9/9/6 cm piece is optimized so that it uses as little material as possible, without compromising the overall function of the product. constructed from polyamide – a strong and flexible material, the fine surface texture allows extension and shrinkage of the vase during the ‘clip’ process.
