combining both hard and soft states of concrete into one, ‘concretediction’ by hungarian studio AB concrete design creates an illusionary impression of the material. the contradiction between the solid material and the soft-looking forms was achieved using plastic bags in the cradling process, shaping the concrete’s natural appearance. during this phase of the process, metals parts were also inserted so they fit in organically. the shells in the cradle were formed freely with the plastic bags in a controlled environment, so that each has a unique shape. the hangers were also made with various moulds to create the different pieces. ‘concretediction’ aims to break the cold, industrial look of the material, giving it a new gentle touch.
