the development of the concrete edition has resulted in a 4-element modular seating collection

the QTZ collection is designed by alexander lotersztain, argentinian born australian designer, and manufactured by the urban element division of IVANKA. the shaping of the objects was born by the naturally occurring forms and crystallization process of quartz. based on that, the company has worked on the evolution and diversification of the initially limited metal range to make it available in larger series for a variety of applications — including public spaces. the development has resulted in a four-element modular seating collection including a table, footrest and the latest QTZ lounger without headrest — a robust and practical object with muted design gestures.

the innovative designs create an exclusive atmosphere for any outdoor, indoor, semi-outdoor, and urban settings

the QTZ collection of lounges, tables and footrests is available in three different categories: beyond the basic (off-white, mouse grey, rock grey), special mixtures (sm green, tobacco) and a limited-number line of aggregate surfaces with handmade deep grinding and finishing. this unique craft brings in a new-generation of natural materiality, combined with IVANKA technologies.

‘as a designer there is no greater satisfaction than to collaborate with a company that focuses on innovation and strives to push the boundaries of the material to new levels. I am excited to see the evolution of QTZ in concrete and showcase IVANKA’s expertise in the field; creating a new contemporary urban element typology’, expresses alexander lotersztain.
