the ‘tapio vases’ series is a collection of borosilicate glass pieces designed by italian designer bonaguro giorgio. following famous traditions of working with glass in countries such as finland and in italy, the objects pay homage to nordic masters like tapio w. and italian glass blowers. throughout the sixties and seventies there were a number of collaborations between designers and glass manufacturers and the collection refers to this process – the forms take simple, archetypal shapes, while exaggerating the heads to emphasize the colors and metals.
