formally based on the bottom of a plastic bottle, the 'bottlebench', a social furniture project by maarten pauwelyn
targets use for public and privates spaces with the intention of having younger crowds interact with the piece.
made using only recyclable polyester, the seating installation focuses on comfort and eye contact by distributing
equal distances between users. the 'bottlebench' also consists of five stackable components which make it easy to

can’t imagine it being very apealing to a woman in a skirt
the women have put it to the test, no complaints were made.
Is a mobile seat with difficult access, especially for women wearing dresses.
Is a structural set with difficult transportation and requiring guests to a unique disposition.
Finally, there is the further problem of the oscillations caused by the movement of the occupants, causing instability to the objects arranged on the center table.
As artistic design is OK.

hi, ok this is an first prototype and isn’t 100% perfect.
I don’t know if you have seen or used it or if you know so much about it…
Bottlebench is made out of 5 equal seats which can be disassembled and stacked so by my opinion transportation is not a problem. the most important target group for the seat are young people on garden party’s, on terraces of bars, private garden’s, etc…
these group of people don’t have any problems to sit on the floor or wherever they may. So this is my solution and translation to this habit. I think I can assure you bottlebench is a very comfortable piece of furniture even for the women.
I hope you understand this is a prototype and isn’t perfect. some improvements in terms of material must still be achieved.
I love it! Where can I buy it?????
The project is still in development.
