a sci-fi style, arena-scale construction surrounded models and fashion show attendees at the esprit dior tokyo 2015 presentation. paris-based creative agency bureau betak transformed the vast, square-shaped stage into gridded, metallic landscape, reminiscent of the capital of japan and its monumental architectural quality. models clad in dior creative director raf simons’ ‘east-meets-west’ themed couture strut beneath a caged construction made of metal bars, hovering just above their heads.

white lights overhead cast intense shadows onto the stage, while tiny specks resembling snowflakes fell down around the walking fashion statements. an audio soundtrack added to the other-worldly ambiance — a mix of music from famed science-fiction flicks ‘blade runner’ and ‘interstellar’ built the surreal impression of dystopian environment filled with high-fashion figures. watch scenes from the fashion show in a video below.
