identity applied to a meeting point at the formex fair
BVD tell us about the colorful and abstract identity that they designed
for the swedish design fair 'formex' at the end of last year.
'the 2012 theme, nordic charm, is a tribute to the minimal and scandinavian design,
combined with colorful and playful patterns. our challenge was to combine
the endless archive of scandinavian retro patterns from 50s, 60s and 70s,
and bring them up to date in contemporary way.'

'it is a challenge to create awareness in large exhibition halls.
our idea is 'fold and unfold'. we worked with three-dimensional hanging mobiles
which can also be folded flat. these hanging mobiles symbolise the meetings
between different worlds of pattern as well as the meetings betweens different
people and personalities. interior design fairs should be fun and inspiring,
and our goal was to bring these values into a playful design.'
