as an official media sponsor of the cannes lions international festival of creativity, designboom is pleased to announce that the organization has introduced the product design category this year. the addition of this classification will recognize the applied use of physical products in aiding the communication of a brand ethos, and evaluate them based on their positive impact on improving people’s lives.

to celebrate the product design category’s first year at the festival, cannes lions invited gold lion winning agencies from previous editions to brainstorm and use their creative mastery to conceive a promotional poster to introduce it to the world. the resulting graphics by cossette, dentsu, hakuhodo and jung von matt are being exhibited in the ‘design space’ – a zone dedicated to the design and product concepts at this year’s festival from june 15 – 21, 2014 in cannes france. here is a preview of the posters.
