appearing to float in the air, ‘piove’ (meaning ‘it rains’) by italian designer carlo contin offers a reinterpretation of a typical umbrella stand. produced in collaboration with italian furniture company mogg, the holder is made from aluminum with a mirror finish and is intended to be used both inside and outside. the slender piece can be fixed directly to a wall and has a small hole in its base, letting drips of water flow out below.
