charlie mcarthur: slight rocker stool

american designer charlie mcarthur has created ‘slight rocker’ as part of an exploration into breaking down barriers in social situations by the shared experience of physical motion. the wooden structure consists of a top area for sitting and a bottom ring which which is composed of various thicknesses, allowing for a slight rocking motion. depending on the direction the user is facing, the orientation of the movement can change as well. its form allows the chair to be stacked, making it ideal for small spaces.

  • These are such cute little stools! Would be great in a school!

  • but not in mine !

  • these are great. nice stop/start choices on the pigment. 3/4 rocking might be a little awkward and having to arrange your butt to be either parallel or perpendicular could feel a bit odd but overall I think I love these stools.

    Piqueno says:
  • but then again, the uprights do suggest the right position. yeah, I dig.

    Piqueno says:
  • Unpraktisch.

    gaston says:
  • not half as sharp as the rocker for Feld:
