the ‘ropes‘ lamps series, created by german-born, paris-based designer christian haas, combines traditional materials and knotting techniques with energy-efficient LED technology.

the pieces were featured in the window display at parisian concept shop colette from january 17th-22nd, 2011.

each of haas’s nineteen ropes is handmade, composed of a textile cord through which LEDs have been run. the LEDs are expected to provide approximately 50,000 hours of light.
