ceremony tea set for mjölk by claesson kovisto rune at IDS

conceived through the exploration of handcrafted techniques found in the greater toronto area, swedish design studio claesson koivisto rune have collaborated with canadian furniture company mjölk to create a milk and sugar set for coffee and tea. on show during IDS in toronto, the series features a small porcelain pitcher with a wooden lid that doubles as a sugar bowl, alongside a double sided metal and wooden tray for cake and hot kettles. ultimately, ‘ceremony’ proposes the marriage between the eastern and western way of drinking coffee or tea with the help of decent serving tools; adding a dash of ceremony to the casual ritual.
