finland’s cool enough studio is a multidisciplinary design firm that strives to explore various characteristics of the ordinary objects we interact with every day. this has led them to develop pillows, clocks, lights, and clothes hangers. for their latest endeavor, called ‘the mirror’, the group turns their attention to the reflective surface that decorates the interiors of bathrooms, hangs on the walls of closets, and hides in the pockets of purses. the reinterpretation is based on the studio’s question, ‘do we underestimate the hand-held mirror that reflects us?’ as a result, it appears as a compact version of its predecessor, measuring 12.4 by 1.8 by 1.8 cm to create rectangular prism decorated on all six sides between plastic stabilizing edges. this increases its functionality, helping users distinguish specific areas of their face as they put on eyeliner, lipstick, and other cosmetics.
