Corian®: TRON designs at milan design week 2011


‘kitchen / dining’

during milan design week 2011, DuPont® presents ‘TRON designs Corian®’,
an exhibition of living solutions designed in Corian® that are influenced by walt disney studios’
movie ‘TRON: legacy’. the project is entitled ‘safe house’ and is a collaboration of various designers
who have each been selected to address various spaces within the domestic dwelling including:
bathroom/wellness, living, bedroom, outdoor, home theatre area and kitchen/dining.


the kitchen features an island that incorporates high-tech film electroluminescent light company tape

italian-based studio aquilialberg (laura aquili and ergian alberg) have teamed up with kitchen manufacturer
ernestomeda
for their contribution. they have been selected to design the kitchen / dining area of the ‘safe house’
which features an island workspace that incorporates a high-tech electroluminescent light film produced
by company light tape.

‘bedroom’

italian designer ilaria marelli will create the bedroom space.
entitled ‘capo d’opera’ it will utilize Corian® that is layered in a topographical way.


‘bathroom / wellness’

jacuzzi will surprise visitors of the exhibition with a bathroom and wellness area that will feature
bathing areas and mirrors made from Corian® that take on the shape of large circular forms that emulate
the discs of TRON. the space is conceived by milan-based marco piva architectural and design studio.


‘home theatre area’

giulio cappellini‘s ‘home theatre area’ will present a unique version of its
‘TRON armchair’ designed by new york-based dror benshetrit
.


‘living’

furnishing company lago, with design contributions from shai akram, jordi canudas, andrew haythornthwaite
and lagostudio, is responsible for the living area.


‘outdoor’

TAO esterno will present outdoor furnishings, conceived by setsu and shinobu ito of milan-based studio ito design.
