franco-portuguese conceptualist didier faustino has created the new work ‘doppelgänger’ for designer’s days 2011 in paris. designed for two people, this white mask fuses conjoined parts to create a sort of prosthesis for a mirror kiss. the object pivots the heads of those who put it on, seeming to maintain a hygienist’s distance and yet revealing a link:  mouths meet through a hole in the middle, enabling users to make contact with their alter egos.
