dimitris niavis is a greek human-centered designer that works on both digital and physical experiences. he was approached by ‘platonics’, an experimental brand that provides locally produced, high quality, elegant and eco-friendly design products, to create a collection of furniture.  following platonic’s principals, niavis intends to create a network of synergies amongst local designers, makers, craftsmen, and artisans.

‘wiref’ is a modular furniture series that references the tools and guidelines used in digital design processes and it is comprised of a bookcase, a drawer, and a door mate. all materials used are natural and locally available in order to reduce the carbon footprint of the collection, and to hold all parts together no glue is used, instead, parts are fixed through the use of hinges, screws, and gravity. the process used to manufacture the series is eco-friendly and the end product, the packaging, and the residues are biodegradable and the wooden parts are compostable.
