german design studio ding3000 introduces the monkey radio / speaker as a snap-on portable device that can be hung pretty much from anywhere. for versatility, the design offers two different positions which adapt to several functions. when the antenna is straight, the product is turned into a static object. but when the strap is bent like a monkey’s tail, the radio becomes a playful mobile companion.

essentially, with the monkey device for palomarding3000 offers different audio modes to enjoy music. if the radio isn’t very tasteful, users can easily switch to bluetooth and stream their own songs. when being used, the monkey can be hung on any tube, pipe, bicycle, and even around one’s wrists. ‘we wanted to create an iconic radio with [a] classic image […] that offers a contemporary unique mobility at the same time. mobility demands an easy method for fixing the gadget to anything […]. fascinated by the ability of spring steel, we found [it to be] the perfect material for the antenna‘, explain the designers.
