the ‘makery project’ by dror rosenberg explores the many complexities of craft production in a series of stations and specialized tools used in the creation of a single product. for as long as there’s been professional craftsmen and women, there have been people buying their products. the project contemplates traditional small-batch production methods, and combines those ideas with that of the modern assembly line. systematic, efficient, and easy to use, it’s demonstrated through the manufacturing of two lighting fixtures. one is a ceiling hung, rolled ceramic; the other, a tripod floor lamp with rolled ceramic top.
