exhibiting at sala arte canal in madrid, the ‘fernando alonso collection’ is the most comprehensive installation dedicate to a formula one driver. organized by the canal de isabel II and the fernando alonso foundation, the temporary exhibition spans over 2000 sqm; the venue is classified as an urban heritage site and the unique pieces on display create an environment where visitors are completely immersed in the world of formula one, its culture and aesthetics, while also reflecting the personality of fernando alonso.

‘the collection’ ferrari area

the entire space is based on a series of contrasts between the dark room and the artefacts, flooded with diffused light to the orderly parts filled with history that are dominated by vertical, rigid-looking lines. the dim-lit interior exhibition creates an environment with a strong sense of movement, buoyancy and excitement. these juxtapositions allow the visitor to experience the intensity of the world of formula one – the speed, vibrant colors, thrill, adrenaline and aesthetics of its cutting-edge technology.

the exhibition spans over 2000m2 in the urban heritage in madrid 

a long white strip dominates the main area where the collection is presented, continuous and curved it breaks up the space. the lane floats above the ground and works as a platform, display cabinet, wall or ceiling, chronologically organizing the items into a time line. an audiovisual space ‘start your engine’ places the viewer in the middle of a competition with music and sound effects.
