front – A&W’s designer of the year 2010

swedish designers sofia lagerkvist, charlotte von der lancken and anna lindgrenhave
of front have been given the designer of the year 2010 award by german magazine A&W
(architektur & wohnen)
. in honour of the award an exhibition featuring the group’s work
from their career is being held at the gerling-quartier / foyer, as part of the passagen program,
during the imm cologne furniture fair 2010.

front selected london based julia lohmann for the A&W mentor prize for up-and-coming designers.

in the magic collection, design pieces are made to make other objects disappear.
a lamp that levitates and a chest of drawers that separates and floats away.
front wanted to create pieces with seemingly impossible characteristics that seem
to defy the laws of nature.
