'elevate' by marc venot for flown

panels which were once used to shape the cabin interior of airplanes used for long haul flights are re-purposed by marc venot
to function as seating. the french designer's 'elevate' series for flown - a company which produces custom furniture pieces from salvaged aircrafts -
uses the curved components (with window openings) to form the structural back and sides of his designs which range from a small chair
to a lounger to a meridian sofa. the manner in which venot has arranged these these parts, draws on the typical way in which these walls
are assembled in a repetitive way, appearing in sequence. much like privacy walls, brings back the feeling of sitting on an airplane,
creating a micro architecture within one's home. the chairs are based on the contrast between the strong, smooth exterior panel and the
soft interior, upholstered in kvadrat textiles.
