paris-based studio GGSV (gaëlle gabillet + stéphane villard) have developed ‘curiosity object’ a series of furniture display windows.
these lights act as small interest cabinets that highlight the uniqueness and strangeness of their subjects. when turned off,
the bulb and socket of the lamps disappear beneath an opaque black tinted glass. under these luminous bells,
they become specimens of a strange preciousness. the designers have chosen to present construction debris under the vessel.
placed on a base made of blackened oak and the lid of blown glass the lamination gradually reveals itself behind a soft veil
to illicit one to observe and reflect on the objects on show.
