giulio iacchetti designs rolo folding chair as an outdoor shelter

together with BeD living from buttrio, giulio iacchetti has created ‘rolo’ for internoitaliano. the design references its form from the classic director’s chair, except that the solid beech wood frame extends upwards to stand at 178cm tall, and is topped out by a pitched roof so that it resembles a small house. conceived on this idea of the chair acting as an outdoor shelter, a green cloth cover installed at the highest point can be rolled up and down the sides of the seating piece, protecting the user from sun or wind.
