thai designer golfJC prepares three designs for presentation at ventura lambrate during milan design week 2015. seeing isn’t always believing, and the ‘soft rock’ collection proves the point. designed to trick the senses, from afar the objects seem like ordinary marble. however, upon touching them, instead of feeling coldness and hardness, users will be greeted by warmth and softness. made from rubber, the vase/candle holder is the result of countless trials and errors–the marble like effect is created through a careful mixture of hardening agents and color pigments. intricately woven steel wires accent the bottom in contrasting colors, and a touch of additional warmth is added with a walnut opening at the neck.

the ‘bottomless basket shelf’ is influenced by exactly what you expect, an every day basket. instead of storing items inside, which confine the user to stay within a designated volume, the design explores different solutions. functionality is maximized by opening all but one face, and giving the shape an upward slanting profile to ensure artifacts do not fall out. surrounding steel bars can also be used to hang clothes. the shelves are produced in different sizes and colors to suit various needs and spaces.

‘cross hanger’s’ form can best be described as the intersection between two pairs of steel and wooden sticks. their orientation enables users to hang clothes–or whatever else–from at least four points in any orientation. all three designs will be on exhibit at ventura lambrate–milan design week 2015–from april 14 to april 19th
