‘everyday life and its accoutrements appeal to me — basic systems and simple mechanisms. I try to design things that are simple, versatile, unusual and uncategorizable; and to make them charming,’ comments inga sempé. ‘I’m interested only in mass-production: most of the objects exhibited in ‘tutti frutti’ are produced by small to medium-sized manufacturers. the exhibition mixes initial studies with finished objects from the last 15 years or so. outline sketches, detailed drawings, rough mock-ups or precise models are displayed alongside furniture, lamps, rugs, textiles and other objects designer for italian, scandinavian and french companies.’
