israel-based studio itai bar-on has created ‘grid’, a collection of concrete lamps that have a grid pattern printed on their outer surface. the design references a virtual object’s wireframe and that precise moment when a system of flat lines appears as a three-dimensional image. the cone-shaped lamps are handmade and use a concrete casting procedure that gives the exterior a fine surface finish while the interior emphasizes on the rough qualities of the material. the different treatment underlines the difference between inside and out — darkness and light.

‘grid’ can be used as a pendant lamp or placed on any flat surface

the ‘grid’ lamp collection comes in white and different shades of grey, all in the same size and with an approximate weight of 1.5kgs. their conical shape allows to be used as pendant lamps as well as horizontally placed on a table and directing the light as pleased. its grid texture outlines the classic, architecture-like shape and the fine exterior surface treatment.
