at rio+design’s exhibition during the 2015 milan design week, jahara studio‘s ‘conterrâneos’ collection of everyday objects, combines the use of clay and glass to create primitivity and rusticity. the range’s name refers to those who share the same geographical identity, and joins together elements that illustrate the natural values of simplicity. using very natural materials, the dry texture of the cay contrasts with the smooth and delicate shades of the opal glass. furthermore, composing of functional containers, including; a fruit tray, a box and a table planter, as well as unique lamps, the products have a totem-like shape. running for a seventh consecutive year, the rio+design expo displays the work of 40 different offices which reflect the current moment of life in rio de janeiro, brazil.
