forming a pencil holder and paper weight, ‘the stone age’ project by korean designer jinsik kim explores the relationship between a material’s essence and shapes that are generated from it. the design is created using a block of italian pink aurora, which is cut into five separate pieces from four slices. the geometric components have been delicately sculptured to resemble ancient stone symbols, just like the original material. the desk accessories can be assembled without the need for any additional elements, turning them into useful and playful items.
