coinciding with the book release of 'JR & josé parlá's 'wrinkles of the city, havana, cuba', american artist parlá will construct 'cafécito neptuno',
a recreated havana environment located in the standard spa, miami, beach. the design takes influence from the old city streets,
drawing from the rich cultural history and night life. the interior is fitted with distressed paint and colorful tilework to capture a texture of tradition and authenticity.
the staff of the cafécito will take orders from a walk-up window which is reminiscent of the streetstyle vendors of the neptuno area, providing coffee,
pressed sandwiches and pastelitos. the to-go menu will be open 24 hours a day during the art basel miami beach event, bringing a full taste of cuba to the arts community.
