‘extreme’ concept for keemo by jorge diego etienne

keemo is a point of sale designed by jorge diego etienne that uses a tablet to process credit card payments, generates electronic invoices and provides a powerful business administration tool. designed for the growing market of PYMES (small and medium businesses in mexico), keemo is an integral solution that eliminates the use of bulky and expensive registers, replacing them with a better experience for the seller and the buyer. beyond the product, keemo is a service that runs through its own app that eliminates tasks such as maintenance and updates.

the starting point for the project was researching the interaction that occurs in a store or commerce, from ergonomics, to functionality and usability when using a tablet based point of purchase. once these needs were identify, an important insight became the problem to resolve: the possibility of using different tablets in one the same stand.

‘high’ concept

a multi-tablet platform was developed as a key structural component of the design. four top selling tablets can be placed without the need of changing parts or any complicated tasks for the user. this clever injected aluminum piece contains all the necessary connections that can be moved through its openings to connect to the different peripherals according to the tablet in use and also protects the device while providing structural support for keemo.

‘tough’ concept

four concepts were developed under two typologies, fixed and mobile points of purchase. both fixed concepts contemplate the movements required during the purchase interaction, providing a seamless experience. the mobile concepts are thought for heavy. all concepts combine different plastics to protect the device and provide a better grip on key positions based on how people grab it and use it in different environments.

keemo is a project designed for diverza, an industry leader in the development and implementation of financial and administration electronic services in mexico. diverza was one of the first companies to offer the electronic invoice service and it has continued to innovate in this field through new apps and services for the business market.
