for his third collaboration with houseware brand iittala, finnish designer klaus haapaniemi has created ‘korento’. a culmination of traditional pattern and graphic geometry, the collection features an intricate and whimsical print of poppies and dragonflies. freely arranged on plates, bowls and cups, the motif appears as a contemporary expression of both color and pattern on pieces of old porcelain. designed to integrate with iittala’s existing collections – including aika, karito and kastehelmi – the pieces use smooth lines and a warm palette that seamlessly pair with the form and hues of the other lines.
