‘loop’ by laselva studio is a minimalistic wall hook whose flat-packed design makes shipping and storing an easy task. being no larger than 15 mm thick, its thin and light packaging includes a cardboard practice strip, a stabilizing block, two screws, and two plastic dowels. this small amount of components allows the appliance to be sent anywhere in the world for free. for the hook’s construction, users are instructed to, ‘grab both extremes from the top with the two horizontal holes at the bottom left. practice first with the cardboard sample to bend the metal loop. bend the strip in one move to fit the top corner with the top right corner,’ as specified by the instruction manual. the result is an everyday functional object with a sinuous curve that attaches to a simple geometry oriented at 45 degrees to the floor. once assembly has been completed, objects such as hats, headsets, cellphones, sunglasses, and bags, can be placed for safe keeping.

users can choose from a variety of material and color combinations. for the strip, they have the option of white and black polypropylene, mustard yellow, burgundy red, ultramarine blue, white, and black aluminum, or brass and copper metal. meanwhile, the square block is available in oak wood, white marble, and concrete. the design intends to help people develop a stronger connection to space as they become more involved in the decorative process. the project is being funded on kickstarter here.
