‘living material’, by peng you & hongchao wang of london and new york-based benwu studio, explores new design methods to re-utilize the most basic natural building materials. the ‘twig vessels’ project investigates the potential of reclaimed scrap branches and twigs, searching for a new manufacturing application that can be integrated beyond conventional industrial production. through a series of design objects such as salt and pepper shakers, spaghetti jars and serving platters, the collection explores the functional aspects of durable and uniquely produced limited run pieces.
