matter of fact exhibition explores contemporary ceramics in israel

‘matter of fact’ is a multi-designer exhibition that examines israel’s particular position in the world of contemporary ceramics. envisioning a world where the country’s largest factories survived into the present — particularly lapid, who shut its doors in 1990 — participants present collections that reflect thoughts in regards to functionality, localism, efficiency, production, and aesthetics.

each project offers a unique interpretation that extends to all aspects of ceramics, including means of production, materials, processing, and of course, decoration. ‘matter of fact‘ offers a theoretical continuation of israel’s ceramic industry, and explores the beneficial possibilities  lost in its absence. ‘matter of fact’ was commissioned by the benyamini contemporary ceramics center, with support from the mifal hapais council for the culture and arts.
