wood mood‘ is a product line envisioned by the mind of milica maric, a grammar school student-turned-industrial designer from cacak, serbia. including large and small versions, each appliance is construct out of various types of lumber. to preserve this aesthetic, their surfaces are protected with natural oils and oil-based pigments. this ingredient is crucial during the finishing process. its micro-porous properties allow it to sink into the wooden grain and make it shimmer.

the shapes of the handmade diffusers move away from being solid enclosures towards a flower-like, rhythmic repetition of slim wires and thick veneer strands. the resultant effect is a play on light and shadow. housing a single bulb within its form, brightness is manipulated as the wood bands are backlit while allowing the rays to pierce through the voids in between them.

adding an extra feature of functionality to the constructs, maric has included cylindrical plates, hooks, and loops that ride up along the vertical spine. each of them provides stability to the structure while providing a place for books, cups, jewelry, and other everyday items.
