miltonpriest is an artisanal design and manufacturing studio located in the north of france that produces furniture and objets d’art, using traditional and contemporary processes. their latest work is a dining table called ‘communauté’, named after the gatherings that take place around it. the construction method employed pay homage to burt mulgrew, an irish riveter who worked in the shipyards of liverpool during the 1890’s.

the table is fabricated using formed sheet metal and solid oak. these provide a strong combination to support the quartz/porcelain top, a material commonly used for kitchen work surfaces. in an open plan environment, it presents an opportunity to harmonize the color from the cooking area into the communal space. the sides come in three different choice of materials: brushed stainless steel, polish copper, or powder-coated metal which has over 200 RAL colors pick from.
