kuniko maeda (japan) and mario minale (italy), of dutch studio minale-maeda have conceived ‘slideshow mirror’. by using physical characteristics from film stock, the project takes an influence from the accurate replication of specific color temperatures. in reflecting only part of the light spectrum, the installation creates a subtle saturated hue in the pigmented panels. each iteration is a based off the idea that scientific objectivity has made us perceive traditional silver mirrors to be natural, where we disregard the potential of other reflective surfaces to be accurate in color representation.
